The ion exchange membrane method for chlor-alkali electrolysis is a system that uses ion exchange membrane to electrolyze salt water, producing chlorine and caustic soda. Unlike traditional processes that use mercury or asbestos, this method is highly regarded for its non-use of harmful substances and energy efficiency.
Since we started offering the ion exchange membrane method for chlor-alkali electrolysis in 1975, ourextensive experience spanning over 50 years and our broad range of electrolysis process technologies available through a one-stop solution have garnered strong trust from our customers.
As of November 2023, Asahi Kasei’s cumulative order volume for the ion exchange membrane method exceeds 30 million tons, and it has been adopted by over 150 factories in more than 30 countries, making us a globally recognized supplier.
